On the evening of Saturday, October 16th, 24 students from Devon Middle School took part in the 12 hours for the Homeless fundraiser. Broken up into 4 teams, and under the supervision of Mr. Kelly, Ms. Lafford and parent Chaperons, Allison Meyers and Joey Meyers; under less than desirable weather conditions for part of the night I might add, students constructed 4 shelters using only cardboard boxes, duck tape & plastic tarps. These students raised over $840, with Luke white raising $147 of this; which, goes to Chrysalis House, Fredericton’s Women’s Shelter.

Thank you to Mr. Kelly for organizing this event. Also, thank you To Mme. Lasalle who graciously brought coffee to the chaperones and hung out to support the event; Marie Lafford who provided some Tim Horton treats; as well, to all parents who dropped in throughout the night to help out.
